Hi, I'm Leah. I’m a Washington, D.C. Event Planner and I’d love to meet you!
It all started with me watching the classic wedding movies (aka The Wedding Planner, My Best Friend’s Wedding, Father of the Bride, etc.). Growing up, I always had a passion for hosting family and friends and bringing people together. When I had the chance to work with a wedding planner, I knew event planning was the career for me which led me to have a full-time event planning job at George Mason University and co-founding my own community events company, (Discover the District), an events business focused on connecting the young people of the Washington, D.C. area with the incredible local businesses through walking food tours, large festivals, speaker panels, cooking classes + more. This all led to the creation of Leah Davenport Events & Design.
The reason why I chose event planning as a path is simple -- it’s the remarkable clients that I get to work with on a daily basis. Often times, these clients turn into real friendships. My passion for helping my clients lies in celebrating their stories, dreams, cultural backgrounds, and the qualities that make them unique. I am passionate about the detail-oriented side of event planning & logistics, but also am fueled by the creative design and seeing the whole vision come together.
I have a soft spot for movies, traveling, color-coding my inbox, discovering the best local coffee shops,
doughnuts, my husband, and my family! My entire life, I’ve been inspired by my late grandmother, Mary Yurgosky. I truly believe my strong-willed passion and sassiness comes from her-- along with my love of vintage + classic design.
